Traditional 2D representations of geometry often fail to engage students in developing strong spatial reasoning skills. Geometry Labs was developed to explore how Extended Reality (XR) can enhance geometric intuition and problem-solving through immersive, hands-on interactions. Using WebXR and Three.js, the prototype enables students to manipulate geometric shapes dynamically, fostering a deeper understanding of spatial relationships.

By incorporating gamification and interactive challenges, the project ensures an engaging learning experience that encourages exploration and intuitive problem-solving.

The prototype has already demonstrated promising results through pilot usability studies, providing valuable insights for ongoing Ph.D. research. Moving forward, future iterations will focus on AI-driven personalization, haptic feedback, and an expanded curriculum to enhance the learning experience further. The project serves as a stepping stone towards integrating XR technologies in education, offering a new way to bridge cognitive science and technology to improve mathematical comprehension.

As research progresses, Geometry Labs has the potential to revolutionize how students learn and interact with abstract mathematical concepts.
